The mental train of thoughts

Last week did 2 train trips of 32 hours and 40 hours respectively. Sharing few realisations that I received during the trips.

City of thoughts

When the train enters the city it is greeted by the garbage, foul smell, cramped settlements. Even then it slows, drops, picks up and then moves out smoothly.

Similarly in our day our mind goes through city of thoughts, bombarded from all directions, of disagreeable tastes/smells and it seems to be lost in the city traffic.

But with skill of meditation and proper guidance it comes back on the track to slip out of the city.

Plains of thoughts

Once out of the city the landscape changes. Sometimes fields of greens, sometimes jungles of trees, sometimes rivers flowing across coming from the distance and going away into the distance, sometimes following the sun as it comes on horizon in orange hues and then bidding it goodbye as it disappears into the hills, clouds, below the horizon, red.

Similarly the mind keeps falling into the infinite depths within. Passing through stillness, seems to be moving, seems to reach nowhere, still moving, falling into the tracks to infinity.

But with skill of meditation the inward fall becomes still, infinity merges into infinity, reaching the goal, being the goal, still moving.

The destination in the life is the journey.

There is no starting station nor a destination station. Each station is a temporary pause into the movement.

Each movement in life is moment of celebration.
